Bergen Chiropractic is proud to expand our services with the addition of in-house physical therapy, led by Dr. Daniela Simancas, PT, DPT. Dr. Dani brings both professional expertise and a passion for movement to our community.

Whether you’re recovering from a sports injury, looking to improve mobility, or supporting your family’s long-term wellness, Dr. Dani’s personalized approach ensures that every patient receives care tailored to their goals.

Expanding Care at Bergen Chiropractic

By integrating in-house physical therapy, patients can now receive both chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic rehabilitation under one roof. This expansion allows for smoother care coordination, fewer referrals, faster timelines, and better outcomes for families, athletes, and everyone in between.

As we extend our offerings, we are doubling down on our promise to support whole-person health, from spinal alignment and joint mechanics to strength, mobility, and functional restoration.

How Physical Therapy Complements Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care focuses on restoring alignment, reducing joint stress, and improving nervous system function. Physical therapy complements that by rehabilitating movement, retraining muscles, and restoring mobility.

Layered Interventions for Better Recovery

  • Stabilization & Core Support: After alignment, physical therapy teaches you how to activate the deep stabilizers (core, hips, scapular muscles) so your adjustments last longer.
  • Targeted Strengthening & Flexibility: We guide you through safe, progressive strengthening and stretching to address muscular imbalance, compensations, or injuries.
  • Motor Control & Proprioception: For athletes and active individuals, rehab drills help refine coordination, balance, and movement quality, reducing the chance of re-injury.
  • Functional Integration & Return to Activity: Whether your goal is lifting your child, returning to sport, or simply bending without pain, physical therapy helps bridge the gap to everyday and athletic performance.

Conditions We Treat With Physical Therapy

At Bergen Chiropractic, our new physical therapy program is designed to address a wide range of conditions, helping patients recover, rebuild, and restore confidence in their movement.

Musculoskeletal Pain and Injuries

From everyday aches to more complex injuries, physical therapy can reduce pain, restore function, and prevent recurring issues. We treat conditions such as:

Through targeted exercises, manual therapy, and corrective strategies, patients can improve strength, flexibility, and stability for long-term relief.

Post-Surgical and Post-Injury Rehabilitation

Recovery doesn’t end when surgery or acute care is over; that’s when rehabilitation becomes essential. Our physical therapy programs are tailored to help you safely regain strength and mobility after procedures such as:

  • Joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder).
  • Orthopedic surgeries (ligament or tendon repair).
  • Fractures and immobilizations.

We focus on progressive, structured rehabilitation that restores independence and minimizes the risk of complications or re-injury.

Balance, Mobility, and Fall Prevention

For seniors or anyone experiencing stability challenges, physical therapy provides life-changing benefits. Our programs emphasize:

  • Balance and coordination training.
  • Gait retraining and mobility exercises.
  • Strengthening of core and lower body muscles.
  • Fall prevention strategies for everyday safety.

By improving confidence and reducing the risk of falls, we help patients maintain independence and quality of life well into their later years.

Meet Dr. Daniela Simancas, PT, DPT

Dr. Dani Simancas is a dedicated clinician and movement enthusiast who brings deep expertise, compassion, and an energetic spirit to Bergen Chiropractic’s new physical therapy services.

Education and Professional Training

Dr. Dani’s academic foundation is rooted in strong foundations in biology and physical therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University. From there, she advanced to Rutgers University Newark, where she completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.

Her clinical training included a full year of intensive, hands-on rotations, during which she immersed herself in various rehabilitation settings. She gained valuable experience across multiple disciplines while working in respected New Jersey institutions.

Among them, The Valley Hospital and Care One Rehab Centers. This training exposed her to diverse patient populations, including those with acute and chronic conditions, and the full spectrum of rehabilitative care.

Expertise in Orthopedics, Pediatrics, and Geriatric Care

Dr. Dani’s training enables her to confidently treat and guide patients across the lifespan and across many movement-related conditions:

  • Orthopedics: She handles musculoskeletal injuries, strains, sprains, joint pain, post-operative rehab, and functional movement deficits by combining manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and movement retraining.
  • Pediatrics: She’s adept at working with younger patients, helping with developmental movement, coordination, strength, and recovery after injury or illness, always with a caring, age-appropriate approach.
  • Geriatric Care: For seniors, she emphasizes safe and functional rehabilitation, improving balance, mobility, and fall prevention, while respecting each individual’s pace and health context, ultimately enhancing quality of life.

Personalized Treatment Plans for Lasting Results

No two patients are the same, which is why Dr. Dani takes the time to understand each individual’s goals, history, and lifestyle. By tailoring treatment plans around specific needs, whether that’s improving balance, building strength, or enhancing athletic performance, she helps her patients achieve results that extend far beyond the clinic.
